Based on the feedback from members and registration team, we have decided to make some changes in membership structure starting with the year 2016. We feel that the simplification will make it easier for members to understand their membership plan and registration team to handle the registration process efficiently.
There are 2 major changes in membership structure
1. Universal Membership Plan:
Starting with year 2016, NEMM will offer only one membership plan called Universal Membership. This will apply to all the people signing up as new members and as well as for existing members who would be renewing the membership.
NEMM typically hosts 6 programs per year. This plan will entitle members to attend all the program for the free of cost. In other words, there will not be any additional entry fee to attend the programs. This plan offers significant savings over the regular entry fee.
|Universal Membership- Family||$85||
This plan is geared towards families interested in attending NEMM programs.
The plan entitles 2 adults and their kids under the age of 18 to attend the programs for free. Since regular rates for each programs are $15 or more for adults and kids, this membership plan offers significant savings (up to 70% savings) for the families.
|Universal Membership- Single||$45||
This plan is geared towards individuals interested in attending NEMM programs.
The plan entitles one person to attend the programs for free. Since regular rates for each programs are $15 or more for adults and kids, this membership plan offers significant savings (up to 50% savings).
Other than significant financial benefit to you, this is the money well spent for a non-profit organization dedicated to a great cause. So we recommend you to support us by signing up as our members !
Until the end of year 2015, NEMM offered various membership plans.
If you were 2015 premium member, the universal plan does not represent any changes for you. You can treat it as a new name for your old membership plan.
If you were 2015 basic member, you will need to switch to the new plan once your membership expires. The basic membership had a low upfront cost but there was a per program entrance fee. Basic members will continue to avail the low entrance fee benefit until the membership expires. They will not be able to sign up for basic membership in 2016.
If you are NEMM life member, your benefits will continue as earlier.
2. Membership Expiration Date:
Until now, NEMM membership started at the date of membership signup/renewal and ran for 1 calendar year from that date. The program dates for NEMM vary every year. So sometimes it resulted members to be eligible to attend 5 or 7 programs (instead of 6) depending on how the programs are planned. We will be discontinuing the date based approach and replace with program based expiration date approach. So from now on, if you signed up for membership during or before a certain NEMM program, you will be requested to renew your membership for that program irrespective of actual date of the program.
NEMM Gudhi Padwa program was on April 2nd last year and you bought membership that day. Your membership will be tied with Gudhi Padwa program. This year you will need to renew registration at the Gudhi Padwa program irrespective of whether the program is before or after that date !
We strongly feel that this will eliminate the confusion and make it easy to understand the membership expiration date.
The membership plan details are further elaborated on this page.
