We are excited to announce that NEMM has joined hands with BMM उत्तररंग to start a local chapter in the New England area. BMM उत्तररंग is an initiative to assist local मराठी मंडळ to facilitate a set of services and host events for मराठी citizens (age 50 and over) residing in North America. The goal is to create a sense of belonging to a North America-wide मराठी family. Over the past year, since COVID-19 started, BMM उत्तररंग has hosted more than 40 programs over web meetings on wide-ranging topics to provide entertainment and information.

The objective of NEMM उत्तररंग is to get local residents to engage in this community. The main activity will be to host programs that present a variety of topics from Astrology and Astronomy to Gardening over web meetings. In addition, NEMM उत्तररंग members can also attend weekly sessions hosted by BMM उत्तररंग. All of these programs will be free of charge and do not require any membership fees. All communication regarding these programs will occur over WhatsApp and programs will be conducted using Zoom meetings. Our volunteers will provide training to those members who are not familiar with WhatsApp or Zoom.

As we grow locally, we will be able to incorporate other ideas such as ride-sharing, investment clubs, CERT volunteering, respite care for families in need etc.
